The Devil is in Detail: Critical Considerations for Korean Health Care Practice in Future
Jeong Chang-Rok

Abstract
This study, titled ¡°The Devil is in Details: Critical Consultations for Korean Health Care Practice in Future,¡± critically reviews the problems associated with Korea¡¯s biomed- ical field. We propose specific alternatives for improving Korean medical care. This study aims to expel detailed demons in the Korean medical community and bring detailed angels. This study¡¯s major concern is a hypothetical medical scenario that should never occur. ¡°The situation and responsibility of Ewha Womans University Mokdong Hospital - mourning the death of four newborns.¡± In 2017, I investigated the death of four new- borns at Ewha Womans University Mokdong Hospital. In this case, Korean civic groups, medical professionals, and administrative officials took different positions. I looked at how these events occurred. Therefore, I have demonstrated the cause of this incident in this paper. In particular, the medical community in Korea should acquire the capacity to enhance procedures. In addition, the government should provide practical support for medical care. Finally, I have explained how differences in opinion arise in our society when medical events occur. Cultural differences are why our society holds differing views on certain medical issues. Due to cultural differences, the general public and the medical community have different perspectives. To put it another way, a ¡®Form of Argument¡¯ op- erates between them. I have dubbed that particular argument the ¡®Form of Not My Fault Argument¡¯. This biased argument arose as a result of the Korean medical community¡¯s ¡®closed and authoritarian culture¡¯. This thesis will disappear when the culture of the Kore- an medical community becomes ¡®open and de-authoritarian¡¯. In addition, Koreans should help the Korean medical community improve its medical culture. In order for the Korean medical community to be fair in the future, we must put great effort now. The fairness of the Korean medical community will create a new humanism in Korean society.
